Blackpool with a dog
Blackpool faces the Irish Sea along a long, flat beach with a promenade the whole way, from the low cliffs at Bispham in the north, past the Tower and the three piers, to Squires Gate on the edge of St Annes. North of North Pier the seafront is quieter, with the trams running along Queen's Promenade above the sand.
For a longer walk, follow the promenade north over the Norbreck cliffs to Cleveleys, with steps down to the beach on the way. Inland, Stanley Park has a boating lake, gardens and a cafe, and Marton Mere nature reserve on the eastern edge of town is known for its birds.
