Quick answers about beaches in Weymouth

Are dogs allowed on Weymouth beach?
From 1 October to the end of April, yes, on the whole beach and off the lead on the sand. From 1 May to 30 September, dogs stay off the main beach between the Pavilion and the Pier Bandstand and off Greenhill beach, but the dog area by the Pavilion stays open.
Which Weymouth beaches are dog friendly in summer?
Three stay open to dogs all year: the dog area at the harbour end of the main beach by the Pavilion, the beach from Greenhill Groyne to Overcombe (Preston Beach), and Bowleaze Cove.
Can dogs go on Bowleaze Cove beach?
Yes, all year. Weymouth Town Council lists Bowleaze Cove among the beaches where dogs are allowed all year round, and the coast path to Osmington Mills starts from the car park above it.
